Day by Day
Day 1: Arrival/Arusha
We will pick you up at Kilimanjaro airport and transfer you for one hour to The African Tulip hotel for overnight.
Day 2: Tarangire National park
After breakfast drive to Tarangire national park for lunch at Tarangire safari lodge. After lunch you will continue with game drive in Tarangire national park. This park has lots of elephants, giraffes, impalas, monkeys and if you are lucky you may even see the big cats. In the late afternoon return to Tarangire safari lodge for dinner. After dinner you will depart for 2 hours of night game drive to look for nocturnal animals that are never seen in day time (like aardvarks, porcupines bush babies and others). You will then return to Tarangire safari lodge for overnight.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara for a village tour at Mto wa Mbu town, then continue to Manyara wildlife camp for lunch. Mto wa Mbu is a small but very busy town where people that belong to all the 120 different tribes of Tanzania live together. This easy but very exciting walk will give you an opportunity to interact with the local people and learn a lot about their daily life. In the afternoon depart for a game drive in Lake Manyara national park. This park has the largest concentration of baboons in North Tanzania, tree climbing lions and others. It is also the best place to see flamingos and other birds. In the late afternoon continue to Manyara wildlife camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Ngorongoro
After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro crater with picnic lunch for a full day of game viewing. This is the best place to see the endangered black rhino (less than 1000 black rhinos are left in the wild in the world). You will also have opportunities to see hippos, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, warthogs and many more animals. In the late afternoon continue to Ngorongoro Sopa lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Ndutu
After breakfast drive to Ndutu An’gata camp for lunch, with a short stop on a traditional Maasai village (if interested) then continue with game drive in Ndutu area. Ndutu is the area between South east Serengeti and North West Ngorongoro where the great migration will be from January to late April. This short grassland area has highly nutritious grass due to the minerals found in the area and it is where the great migration calve in February. It is one of the very few places in the parks where off-road game drive is permitted and the best place to see hunting cats (lions and cheetahs). Other animals in the place include hyenas, warthogs, elephants, giraffes and many more. In the evening you will return to Serengeti Ang’ata camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Ndutu
Morning and afternoon game drives in Ndutu area exploring the great migration while looking for hunting lions and cheetahs. All meals and overnight will be at Ang’ata camp.
Day 7: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast drive to Serengeti Sopa lodge for lunch. In the afternoon depart for game drive in Serengeti national park, then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Serengeti is the park with the largest concentration of big mammals in the world. Here you will see most of your animals in your trip including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, impalas, giraffes and many more. Dinner and overnight will be at Serengeti sopa lodge.
Day 8: Serengeti National Park
Morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti national park with early departures, trying to look for active cats/hunting predators. All meals and overnight at Serengeti sopa lodge.
Day 9: Serengeti/Arusha
After breakfast, you will have a roadtrip to Arusha and later you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro international Airport for your international flight.
